Privacy Policy
What we collect, why we collect it and the choices you have. Written to be read, not to be skimmed past.
A quick note. This document reflects our current practices and is reviewed as our services evolve. It is written to be understood — if a sentence is not clear, tell us and we will rewrite it.
Who we are
Comfort Home Zone is a home renovation and remodeling studio. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website, contact us, request a quote or subscribe to our newsletter, and what we do with it.
We keep this page in plain language. If anything here is unclear, write to us at contact@comforthomezone.com and we will explain it.
Information we collect
We only collect what we need to answer you properly.
- Information you give us. Your name, email address, telephone number, project details and any files or photographs you choose to send through our forms or by email.
- Newsletter details. Your name, email address and the topics you tell us you are interested in.
- Technical information. Basic, aggregated information about how visitors use the site, such as which pages are viewed and the type of device used. This is used to improve the site, never to identify you personally.
We do not ask for, and do not wish to receive, sensitive personal information such as financial account numbers, identity documents or health details through this website. If you share such material, you do so at your own risk.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Respond to enquiries and arrange consultations, site visits and estimates.
- Prepare scopes, quotations and project documentation relevant to your home.
- Send the Comfort Letter, if you have asked to receive it.
- Keep records of work discussed, quoted or completed, as any responsible contractor must.
- Improve our website, services and the clarity of our communication.
We rely on your consent for marketing email, and on the legitimate interest of running a professional renovation business for enquiries and project records. You can withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing or by contacting us.
Cookies and analytics
Our website uses only the cookies needed to make the site work properly and, where enabled, a privacy-minded analytics tool that helps us understand which pages are useful.
We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles across other websites. If you prefer, you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, though some conveniences may be lost.
When we share information
We never sell your personal information.
We share it only where it is necessary to deliver what you have asked for, for example:
- With trusted trades, suppliers and specialist consultants working on your project.
- With lenders or warranty providers, where you have asked us to make an introduction.
- With service providers who host our website, manage email or handle scheduling, under confidentiality obligations.
- Where the law requires disclosure, or to protect the safety and rights of people and property.
Project photographs and portfolio use
We sometimes photograph completed work for our portfolio, website and social channels. We will always ask for your permission first and we will not publish images that identify you or your household without written consent.
If you later change your mind, tell us and we will remove the images from our channels as soon as we reasonably can.
How long we keep information
We keep enquiry details for as long as needed to deal with your question and to maintain sensible business records. Project records and warranty information are kept for as long as the warranty period and applicable law require. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe, after which we retain only a suppression record so that we do not contact you again by mistake.
Your choices and rights
You have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct anything inaccurate.
- Ask us to delete information we no longer need.
- Object to marketing, or withdraw consent at any time.
- Ask for a copy of the information you gave us.
To exercise any of these, email contact@comforthomezone.com. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
We use sensible technical and organisational measures to protect information, including access controls on our systems and limited retention. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so please avoid sending confidential documents by ordinary email unless we have agreed a safer route with you.
Children's privacy
Our services and website are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this site, contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other websites
Our pages may link to other sites, such as map services or lender websites. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or practices. We encourage you to read their policies before sharing information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The current version is always published here, and material changes will be flagged on this page. Please check back occasionally if privacy matters to you, as it should.
